Do you ever feel guilty for disobeying your parents as a child?
I know I do sometimes and wish I could have been better. My parents said I was a good child that gave them very few problems but I could have been better. For example, when I was about to turn 9 years old my mom went out to buy me a birthday present and I knew about it. When she came back she left the gift in the bag inside the van that night because I was inside and she didn’t want to bring it in for me to see it. She also told me not to go out to the van to see what it was. Well, I was curious and did anyways and saw that she had got me a GIJOE vehicle. Afterwards, I felt very guilty for disobeying her because not only did I disobey her but she said that for my own good so I would be surprised on my birthday when I opened it up. Needless to say, opening up birthday gifts was a little less exciting knowing what I was going to get. I learned my lesson and never did that again but, I still know I could have been a better son.
Well let me see, I raised myself from about the age of 14 on… So no, I don’t have very many regrets… I am only thankful I knew how to be forgiving because now I have a strong relationship with my mom…
And dad? If I ever meet him I will love him too….
